ETHOS AND SUSTAINABILITY

As a business and as individuals we are very aware of the environmental impact of the fashion industry and believe that we must all be moderate and considered with our consumption. The most sustainable form of fashion, vintage, has and always will be in our DNA. With our vintage-inspired label, we pour all our passion and knowledge into everything we create, and every day is a learning curve for us. As we continue to grow as a business, we continue to push ourselves and find new ways to make our business more sustainable.

Slow Fashion

Slow Fashion

Our vision for the collections is to create unique and timeless pieces that will become future vintage and passed down through generations. Our brand is not trend led, we are on our own path and we do not apply ‘fast fashion’ pressures to our suppliers, with the development and production lead times for each collection between 6-9 months.

Meeting Our Makers

Meeting Our Makers

To ensure transparency in our supply chain, we try to make the trip to see our suppliers both in India and China once a year (however, the last year has proved challenging due to Covid). Our last trip was to New Delhi Feb 2020 just before the world locked down. Meeting our makers and seeing the factories our collections are produced in means we can ensure the teams are fairly paid, there is no child labour and the working conditions are safe.

Fabrics

Fabrics

We are constantly working towards using more sustainable and organic fabrics, techniques and production methods with our makers. 50% of our eternal collection, Heroes, is made from recycled or organic fabrics and we will continue to push to increase this figure as we evolve as a brand.

GIVING
BACK

We are very pleased to announce that we have joined the 1% for the Planet family and moving forwards we'll be donating 1% of all our sales to environmental causes who are committed to creating a healthier planet. Over the coming months we'll be working with 1% for the Planet to establish which non-profit organisation(s) we'll be donating to.Stay tuned!

Black Lives Matter

In 2020, we donated all profits from the sale of our reusable floral face masks to charities supporting black live and communities. Your purchases meant that we could donate over £5000 to Black Lives Matter and The Bail Project – so thank you!

OUR MAKERS

Having met our suppliers and spent time with them in their factories, we have built meaningful relationships and we value their contribution.

New Delhi, India

Our partner in India is a female owned, family run business in New Delhi. This is where we create our lightweight, soft & embroidered pieces.
The factory is GOTS certified and has the following systems in place to make the factory more sustainable & environmentally friendly.

Rain Harvesting– this is the accumulation and storage of rainwater for reuse on-site, rather than allowing it to run off.

Solar Energy Panel – this significantly reduces the energy output of the factory.

Effluent Treatment Plant – this purifies industrial effluent to reuse, reducing the use of fresh water in the factory.

Dongguan, China

Our supplier in China is based in Dongguan just outside Guangzhou. They are a small company who have their own in-house factory so no work is outsourced. Their team is paid mid-high level for their region in China and each year their salary increases. The team's wages differ depending on the department they work in. For example, the sewing department is paid higher than the packaging department. We have worked with this supplier on our last three collections and visited the factory to see the working conditions and get more of an insight into wages of the team.
